![]() I did not go with the electric cut out before the cats which made the most power. I would have gone with a DIY set-up but more I looked the nicer the NW DCAI became more attractive and makes 26whp when the corks are opened. Well these first round of mods are completed. The car was much more capable of getting out of tight traffic with the instant torque on demand. On the drive back from the shop that changed the pulley I was on an interstate and must have spent more time closer to 100 than to 60mph, the car would dart from 80 to 100 in what felt like about 3 seconds. Once the SC is functioning if the tune adds even 20HP I would be pleased. for everything this is the best deal I saw. shipped it is much better than the dealer cost of $1000.! I am not sure this new pump will fix the SC but it is good insurance, who knows how long the bad one(so I think) has been on the motor.Ĭertainly at $650. I put the stock tune back in that Euro sends back in the same file as the race tune, still no SC. Coincidence or not my SC stopped boosting! I have owned several forced induction vehicles but never felt 3psi like I did with this pulley! WOW! Then I had an as yet unresolved issue when I did the tune. ![]() for the 65mm pulley, cable for the tune and, of course, the tune itself. I already had the NeedsWings Dual cold air intake system. For me, $450 + a belt fits my budget for what I want to accomplish.Ĭlick to expand.I just completed the Eurocharged deal for my 2002 SLK32 AMG. If anyone else has anything to add I am all ears. I honestly don't know which kit is best and would assume that the HP difference between the best or worst can't be more than 8-10hp. Vaeth is the most expensive but they give you that entire kit. You then have to buy the a new belt via thrid party. Once you install the pulley, you mail them back your oem pulley and they give you back $300. I spoke with whoever responds to the email account. ![]() He said they only have a handful left over at the Denmark HQ which he can order for us.īased off of this info, I think ASP has the best deal. They kit also comes with a new belt and the cost is $995.00. It is pully that uses 4 set screws and is attached to your existing crank pulley. The newer SLK 2001 - 2004 uses a different pulley. The boost kit which is listed on their website for $869 is for the older r170 2000 and prior. He said there were actually two different kits for the r170. ![]() I just got off the phone with Cory Umemoto the Technical Manager at Kleenmann USA. I would be fine with the $875 that Kleenman was charging. The only issue I have with them is that its more $ than I want to spend. In addition Vaeth also provides a sports air filter insert and electronical adjustment for the ECU. I wonder if putting on the pulley without changing the alternator pulley would cause any damage over a long period of time to the alternator. So Kleenmann used to supply a new alternator pulley but asp and vaeth do not. Kleenmann used to offer a kit that included a new crank pulley, a new alternator pulley and a new serpentine belt.ĪSP Racing offers just a crank pulley and said to buy a new belt from a third party. Pulley Kit: Belt pulley combination to increase supercharger rotationĪnd boost pressure, including sports air filter insert There is a German company called Vaeth that is very popular in Europe.
